Yet Another Night
Shutting the glaring screen,    on to the street he  emerges under the sky clothed    in the  the dusky colours Of twilight Crossing the children hiding and seeking under the streetlight's glow, he gazes at the Town's madness      At the crossroads    he watches the blessed head home, and the wrecked loitering the pavements making choices for the night Walking into a tavern he crouches in a dingy corner Holding  the sour drink Swigs and fills...swigs and fills      All of life's bitterness washed down the throat    his head grews heavy in a toxic joy Into the late-night darkness    he emerges staggering on the Street    hung head swinging across    he finds the way in the absence of light
