I Will Give You Rest

Sun cruising down the horizon,
lit the Church's Red Cross
in a faintly glow

The Secondary School,
in the Church's Premises,
saw its long gone students
reuniting after years,

reveling in the sweet sorrow
of the evening,
lost in memories
of the bygone years.

Watching all leave,I
retreated into
The  Church's embrace,

burdened
by inexplicable angst
I knelt in supplication
seeking  redemption.

As Twilight dissolved into Night,
I walked back,
reminded of the verse:

'Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest'
